THE ABSOLUTE SINS

Installation

This project uses the instant and physicality of Polaroid photography. The reason why I choose polaroid as a main medium, is because it gives me and the audiences the feeling of “the snap” the momentary moment - and the idea of the experimental and unknown result behind the image. This gave me an in-depth space in experimenting what a Liminal Space means

to me - what is real and what is fantasy? And the gap between both worlds. The manipulation of an instant image, makes me question on the reliability and use of memory and perception through a singular and unknown moment/result. It makes me think whether my memory has been manipulated by the idea of the photographic process, as it could reflect the reality of the wold and existence.

This work invites the audiences to question what is recorded, what is altered, what is the idea? And where the truth lies. Of the unknown - when the image develops before your naked eye meets its final form. My curiosity and interest for the culture of the Absinthe, and spiritual self-transcendence, inspired me to bring audiences into another space, inside the space.
