Sreen print on paper

This work consisting on a series of continuous images - reflects the existential condition from the modern world, challenging where the meaning is found in chaos and excess. For instance, the cigarettes being rolled are a mirror of the human being, being consumed by the system. The fragmented rolling machines flow into the space, which represent the systematic reality of productivity and control.

The delegated and utilitarian systems of society; of economy, morality, belief, in regulating and controlling humans and life - systems restricted economics; must have a purpose, a balance, a return and most importantly, a rule.

In my work, metaphorically, we are the cigarettes being rolled, without the cigarettes the world has no purpose of existing; a reflection of the systematic world that we live in, and existential crisis. Society never asked you if you wanted to become and be who you are, the world talks about goals, success and achievements - but under the condition that you ambiguously produce, perform and deliver results. The human evolution in the modern world, seems to be all a preparation for work, suggesting that human destiny is to work, to produce. Who defined those rules? Who decided that leaving has only value if its turned into productivity? described as a sophisticated prison with no bars, but social expectations. Speaking through this perspective, art, pleasure and contemplation seem to always be at the end of the list.
