Farewell to My Memory
Installation/Perfomance/Moving Image Visual Exhibition
This piece of art practice is a multi-media story that explores stories and memories of places I’ve been in my life. The installation consists of a sequence of images and three cameras, each with its own shredder, that outline a scenario that appears remote but happened to me. The project addresses movement and displacement, hope and nostalgia, and goodbyes to the past and present through a range of performance visual, and installation. If memory is the purpose of my life, then we are killing memory and ourselves when we are born, because we end up being someone else’s memory and a torn negative, just like pulling a negative out of a dark box and exposing it to sunlight.
