Installation, Experimental Film
In this project, I come to terms with my childhood trauma and understand how it set the stage for subsequent trauma, and now it’s time to start healing. Nature offers endless possibilities for connection, showing me acceptance, soothing, and revealing hidden parts of my being. The trust, loyalty and gratitude of animals are moving and I am inspired by the way they meet their needs without guilt. In the process, I relived the personal emotions accumulated in my wandering life. My photographic practice is intuitive, autobiographical and therapeutic, exploring the meaning of home, belonging and identity. Playing images on repeat is a meditative, and playful tool that helps me externalize my inner processes. Framing itself is a liberating act, I choose what to see and how to perceive it. By curating and recording visual information, I am able to re-examine, digest and connect with myself against this fast-paced and oppressive world. By sharing a personal journey from strangeness to intimacy.
